I picked this exact item up on eBay for $40 plus $17 shipping. I had it in my mind that I could use this cut out shapes in wood as I am not a drywall, ceramic tile or acoustic ceiling installer. I also wanted to add to my collection of DeWalt 18v tools. Wow was I in for a surprise. This thing is so fast you cannot do much detail with it. The sawdust gets in the way of the cut line and if you don’t keep a strong grip on it, it will just rip its way through the material whichever way it wants. Sort of like a skinny router. I did manage to get some crude shapes cut but they are not square all the way through the wood. I did think about using it to cut tenons because of the depth guide. I am sure it has lots of uses but I am still searching for them. Save your money and get the corded kit with circle cutter & handle unless you already on an 18v battery & charger.

Didn’t realy get to use this tool much other than just playing around and testing it. Seems a little heavy but works well. Not much else to report till I realy get to use it on my cabin project.

I bought this too cut out dry wall and I was

about to tile the floor in one of my bedrooms. This tool with the correct blade did not cut any of the tile, as for the

18 volt battery….. it’s way too top heavy.

A 12 or a 14 volt would have been a better choice. Save your money don’t buy it!!!!!!

The tool works well. The only issue is that with the battery, its quite heavy. You can get cramping from using it to much without resting.

This little cut-out tool has proven fairly convenient for close-quarters applications (where a sawzall may not be practical). Although a variable speed control would be nice, I remain a satisfied Dewalt consumer and anticipate future purchases from Toolsbynet.
