This cordless screwdriver appears to be a cheap plastic tool. Since the battery charger included was defective, I never got to try it.

I like the performance of this portable utility, the grip was nice the interchangable battery was a good add to its feature abling to share with other utility using same battery. The only setback was the body built, looks cheap plastic that wont last, thats why the price isn’t that much.

    1) this product only accepts 120v. I had to get a 120-240v converter. currently I’m using a 60w converter which is more than enough. the base charger station states it uses 20w only.

    2) the head mount for the screw/drill heads are not your usual chuck key type. it’s a very flimsy push-pull to lock it in. and that push-pull head is made of plastic.

    3) it’s very hard to switch from Speed 1to2 or 2to1. you might have to move it a few times for the gear to engage.

    4) Gear 1&2, the motor speeds the same RPM. it’s the gear that slows it down. so you either have more torque and less speed.(good for tightening), or more speed les torque (good for not over tighening)

    5) the plastic seems rather cheap, like some poly carbonite. scratches rather easily.

    6) the motor is rather loud and hollow sound. it doesnt sound smooth. but it sounds like it’s scratching or grinding.

I hope this helps the others.

When I received this as an xmas present I was excited. I use a regular cordless drill for installing screws a lot and I thought this would be a compact alternative. I never imagined that it wouldn’t have a clutch or a variable speed trigger. I wish I would gotten a gift receipt, because without those two features I can’t imagine ever using this unit. I don’t suppose I need a clutch or variable speed to drill a hole, but I would just use my drill (this unit only comes with 3 bits anyway). If I was trapped on a desert island without a real drill I would make do with this. If the battery is dead in my real drill I will wait for it to charge rather using this toy.

I was looking for a replacement for my B&D PD600 screwdriver and thought this would be worth a try for the sake of having replaceable batteries. My PD600 lasted over 2 years and is still working, with some minor problems. After a month of using the VPX1101X daily the selectable speed switch stopped working. When it did work it was randomly binding up 3/4″ of the way to either side. I decided to take a look inside to see what the problem was and found plenty of cheap looking plastic parts that were fairly loose even when assembled. The speed switch is attached to a small metal half-ring that engages/disengages a set of gears–it popped out of the gear it seats in and lifts.

It does work again, but next time I’ll buy something more durable. To echo most other reviews about the cheap feel of the plastic I do agree with that. It gets dirty and chips very easily and none of the controls feel solid in any way.
